PGMEP and PGMAC actively participate in Ministry of Justice meetings to approve the Arbitration Law
Ramallah, June 18, 2023 – The Professional Global for Managing Educational Projects (PGMEP) and the Professional Global for Mediation and Arbitration Chamber (PGMAC) demonstrated their commitment to advancing the field of arbitration by actively participating in a workshop organized by the Ministry of Justice. The workshop focused on reviewing and refining the draft of the Arbitration Law, which was held at the ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah.
The esteemed arbitrator, Mr. Mohammed Zahran Hassoneh, represented PGMEP and PGMAC in this significant gathering. The session commenced with an opening address by the Deputy Minister of Justice, who underscored the paramount importance of these meetings in formulating an advanced arbitration law. He emphasized the necessity of enacting a revised arbitration law, given its profound implications in various economic and commercial domains. The Deputy Minister further elaborated that the proposed amendments aim to address specific issues not currently covered by the existing law and to align with pertinent international arbitration conventions.
Recognizing the significance of stakeholder input, the Ministry of Justice assured all participants that the remarks and insights shared during the session would be thoroughly examined. These valuable contributions will be diligently incorporated into the final draft project, with the aim of developing an arbitration law that meets the diverse needs of the stakeholders while harmonizing with the practical realities of the arbitration process and conforming to international standards.
During the workshop, the participants, including PGMEP and PGMAC, presented several noteworthy remarks on the draft project. They highlighted the imperative of effectively regulating the arbitration sector in Palestine through the revised law, ensuring it caters to national requirements and aligns with international standards.
